Get to Know Jane Doe

People who know me know that I love Victoria Dahl. Several of her contemporary romances occupy prominent spaces on my favorites shelf.

Over the last couple of years, she’s taken a left turn away from romance and, under the name Victoria Helen Stone, delved into psychological thrillers. Evelyn, After was her first and I still think about the audacious way she decided to structure it (chapters alternate between events that happened before the event that changed Evelyn’s life and after. It is tense and gripping and I REALLY recommend it).

I was given an ARC of Jane Doe, her latest and…holy wow.

This is a story of a sociopath bent on revenge. Told in the first person from her point of view. And by golly, I rooted for this woman. I cheered for her. I laughed as she toyed with the object of her vengeance with all the casual sadism of a housecat with a three-legged spider (Jane is wryly hilarious).

It’s really hard to review this book without spoiling it, so I’ll just say if you’re turned off by the sociopath or the revenge plot, or the idea of a tense story…read it anyway. I already had high expectations based on Victoria’s earlier work, but she exceeded every single one of them.

And did I mention…it’s only $1.99 right now and SO IS THE AUDIO? So you can get both for under $4!! What are you WAITING for?
